Kitty O'Shea's
For this weeks instalment I ventured West for the long awaited return to Kitty O’Shea's. Kitty’s is located in the depths of the West End on Great Western road in prime GU territory, however they also have a pub in the city centre that I’m yet to visit. Having been here multiple times over the first 2 years of Uni I knew exactly what to expect; a cracking pint of Irish stout.
Once you step foot in Kitty’s you’re cut off from the rest of the world and entered into a Guinness fuelled time warp; no windows, no daylight, just pints. When we first arrived the place was empty but that was alright because we were just watching the football. However, once the live music kicked off the place soon filled up. The pub also features a purpose built stage for the performers which makes all the difference. Kitty’s have live music 7 days a week, much like the Tolbooth except the guys playing at Kitty’s didn’t look like they’d served a life sentence. Expect this place to be packed out on Wednesdays and all throughout the weekend. A prime West End destination to watch any sport fixture or enjoy some live music.
I knew going into this one that Kitty’s was probably my favourite pint in Glasgow and they certainly didn’t disappoint. They don’t miss, all you have to do is take one look at the domage on display. Not only did it look the part, it also went down an absolute treat, so much so that we decided to park up there for the night and sup away. There was maybe a minor lack of shtick but we’ll absolutely let them off. All in all, a great outing and I’ll be back again soon.
